• Technically, Barack Obama is a member of a United Church of Christ. Doug has studied Barack's spoken and written words, though, and has some confidence that Barack is at least partially, intuitively gnostic (wise). Gnosis' only hierarchy is lingual, and referred topos: hylic, psychic, and pneumatic. Barack speaks and writes (in Doug's opinion) gnostically. Gnosis is, among others, Essene~Naassene~Judaic~Jesuit (omnistinguish Judah from Israel). It is pro individual, pro individual freedom, non institutional, non authoritarian, cooperate first, physically defend as a last resort, etc. belief system. It says simply, "all is process [i.e., evolutionary]," "monism [by itself, for its own solipsist notional intent] is deceit [therefore 'catholicism,' and 'universalism' are deceit]," "principle rules something not itself," and "do not do what you, as an individual, hate." What we, as a society, hate is to be ignored. In that last regard gnosis finds society as a consensual, vulgi opinio error corruptor of human individual rights and freedoms.

• "I will serve all of you, to best of my abilities, as president of USA." Paraphrased by Doug. Gnosticism at its finest! USA is an ensemble of individuals. There is no generic constituent who represents society's notion of 'the people,' as a "one size fits all" monism.
• Obama is pro choice. Choice in Greek language is 'heresy.' So again, Obama, shows his gnosis brilliantly as what 'catholics' and 'conservatives' refer as 'heresy.' Gnostics are heretics since they believe and will protect to their own deaths individuals' rights to their own choices (while respecting others' rights to their individual choosings).
• Obama is tolerant of 'marriage' as a quantum union of two people who love one another and want civil rights for their 'marriage,' whatever one may call it. (Both California and Massachusetts are leaders here.)
• Barack Obama wants a planned redeployment of troops in Iraq.
• Barack Obama is a gnostic~meliorist. Simply each unit of effort by each human to adaptively, expectantly, pragmatically emerse one's local surroundings for better, is moral. In order for a living~society to embrace emergent change one must adopt and adapt to n¤væl metaphors, i.e., change bearing memes, which will help a formerly dying society shed its old skin and evolve emerscent ones which will assist its survival.

Obama's gnostic patriotism requires few social symbols and many gnostic actions, gnostic pragma, again in Greek, pragma. Excellence!
